The city of Sfax is preparing to welcome a cruise ship on October 12, with between 1000 and 1200 tourists of various nationalities.
The local representative for tourism in Sfax, Fathi Zreida, told TAP on Monday that "this came after a forum held by the Sfax International Association in October 2022, where it was proposed to receive cruise ships in the city", in the framework of boosting local investments.
The delegate pointed out that all administrations are committed to this event, noting that the last cruise ship received by the city of Sfax dates back to 2003.
He explained that three organised tourist itineraries have been prepared for the guests of Sfax and Tunisia in general, namely the tourist route of the old city of Sfax and the tourist route linking the old city and the salt pans of Sfax, in addition to the archaeological sites of El Djem and Mahdia.
