Yunyoo: The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has commemorated this year's Independence Day with a quiz competition for students from selected Junior High Schools in the Yunyoo/Nasuan District in the North East Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, the quiz aimed to test students' knowledge on the nation's Independence and other social issues, with participation from Yunyoo JHS, Jimbali JHS, and Mongul JHS. Yunyoo JHS claimed the first position, followed by Jimbali JHS in second place, and Mongul JHS in third. The schools received educational prizes such as books and pens to support their learning.
Mr. Peter Dubik, Human Resource Manager of the Ghana Education Service for Yunyoo/Nasuan District, attended the event on behalf of the District Director of Education. He encouraged students to focus on their studies to achieve success and warned them against engaging in drug use and deviant behaviors, which could negatively impact their well-being. He praised the NCCE for organizing the event, highlighting its role in educating students about the country's Independence history.
