Women Farmers in Northern Region Receive Certified Seeds to Boost Crop Yields
Savelugu: A total of 300 women smallholder farmers, including persons with disabilities in the Northern Region, have received certified seeds to promote sustainable crop production. The support package, which included maize seeds, targeted farmers in two districts, Savelugu and Tolon, to enhance agricultural productivity and resilience. According to Ghana News Agency, beneficiaries were drawn from 10 communities across the districts, including Savelugu, Gbanjong, Kamonaayili, Tolon, Galinkpegu, Libga, Zaazi, Bihinaayili, Nyoglo, and Gbulahgu. The initiative was implemented by the Ghana Youth Guide, a youth-led advocacy organisation in Northern Ghana, under its flagship project dubbed: ‘Empowering Ghanaian Youth for Sustainable Agriculture R2C’.
