Majoul, Taboubi discuss national socioeconomic situation

President of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA), Samir Majoul, and Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), Noureddine Taboubi, met on Monday to discuss the country's socio-economic situation. The two sides stressed the need to continue efforts to ensure the sustainability of businesses and jobs, while increasing workers' purchasing power. They also expressed support for the Palestinian cause and condemned the Zionist entity's aggression against the Gaza Strip. They called for an immediate end to the bombardment of Gaza, the protection of the civilian population and the delivery of humanitarian aid and essential supplies. The meeting, held at UTICA headquarters, is the first of its kind in about a year. It comes on the eve of a plenary session of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) to discuss the draft supplementary budget for 2023. More
