Nandom: The Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services among rural households in the Upper West Region, as part of its Healthy Future for All (HF4A) project. This initiative is aimed at fostering a hygienic environment for children under 15 years in homes, schools, and healthcare facilities, with a focus on the Nandom and Lambussie Districts. According to Ghana News Agency, the HF4A project, funded by the Helmsley Charitable Trust, has successfully enabled seven communities to achieve Open Defecation Free (ODF) status through the Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach.

Court of Appeal Grants Ato Essien GHC10 Million Bail Pending Appeal

Accra: The Court of Appeal has granted GHC10 million bail to William Ato Essien, CEO of the defunct Capital Bank, pending the determination of his appeal. The three-member panel ordered Essien to provide two sureties with justification, deposit his passport at the Court’s registry, and report monthly to the Registrar. Cybercriminals Get 18 Months in Hard Labour for Cyber Fraud and Illegal Entry

Ashaiman: Two Nigerian nationals have each been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment in hard labour by the Ashaiman District Court for cyber fraud and illegal entry. John Moore and Charles Bruce pleaded guilty to engaging in prohibited cybercrime activities, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’, and entering Ghana unlawfully through an unauthorised border crossing at Aflao.
