The Tunis Stock Market Index (Tunindex) fell 0.1% to 8438.9 points over the week (October 23-27), bringing its performance since the beginning of the year to +4.3%, said broker Tunisie Valeurs.
This week saw a slowdown in the pace of trading compared with the previous week with only around TND 10 million were traded on the market, i.e. a daily average of almost TND 2 million. This is due to the lack of block trades and the prevailing gloom.
Stock analysis
Euro-Cycles shares were the best performer of the week after soaring by 16.6% to TND 13.060, in trading worth TND 449 thousand.
SIAME shares were among the week's biggest risers. The shares rose by 4.3% to TND 3.650, generating a modest weekly flow of TND 128 thousand.
Magasin Général shares were the market's red lantern after dropping by 12.8% to TND 9.150. Trading in the stock was weak, amounting to only TND 3 thousand.
SAH Lilas also ended the week on a gloomy note, after dropping by 2.7% to TND 7.950. The week's most active stock, SAH supplied the market with a capital of TND 1.8 million.
