Sunyani MCE Designate Urges Formidable Front to Maintain Parliamentary Seat in 2028

Sunyani: Mr Vincent Antwi Agyei, the President's Nominee for the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, has called for a formidable front with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency. Besides development, he said a deepened unity within the rank and file of the party would enable them to work hard for the NDC to maintain the Sunyani East constituency parliamentary seat in the Election 2028.

According to Ghana News Agency, interacting with some Sunyani East NDC constituency executives and supporters, Mr Agyei emphasized that the party could not afford to lose the parliamentary seat in the next general election. He rallied their support to advance the development of the municipality to the next level.

He stated that this approach remained the surest way for the electorates to maintain their confidence in the NDC and vote to retain the government and the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Seid Mubarak, in political power.

Mr Agyei expressed that his nomination 'is a nomination for all,' and extended his gratitude to the President, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chair, the constituency executive, supporters, and members of the NDC for his nomination.

He also congratulated all party members who submitted their names for the MCE position, urging their support, cooperation, and the use of their rich experiences in politics and social life to address the development needs of the constituency.

Mr Antwi acknowledged and recognized the contributions of every member and supporter of the NDC, which led the party to win the Election 2024. He urged them to remain resolute and loyal to the party.

Meanwhile, some members of the NDC, political actors, and social media commentators have welcomed the nomination of Mr Agyei, describing him as a unifier. In an interview with the GNA, some NDC supporters in the constituency expressed optimism that the President's nominee would maintain his humility and work diligently for the purpose of development.
