A partnership agreement between Tunisie Autoroute, Monétique Tunisie (SMT) and Banque de Tunisie et des Emirats (BTE) has been signed on Thursday at the headquarters of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).
Under the terms of the agreement, Tunisie Autoroute has signed up for the Paysmart programme, which will enable its customers to recharge their electronic toll badges via the Paysmart application, which can be accessed at www.paysmart.tn.
The signing ceremony for this agreement was held under the supervision of Public Works Minister Sarra Zaafrani, BCT Governor Marouane Abassi and in the presence of several executives from Tunisie Autoroute and the programme's partners.
In her speech, the Minister highlighted the role of Tunisie Autoroute, which she described as "the pride of the Tunisian state", pointing out that the company had already adopted the modernised toll system.
The Minister also thanked the executives of the BCT and the SMT, as well as the BTE, for their efforts to ensure the success of this programme, which will encourage road users to adopt electronic toll collection.
For his part, Abassi stressed the importance of adhering to the process of digitalisation and the use of new technologies.
