Tumu: Pastor Amedekah Meshack of the Tumu Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, within the Upper West Administrative Field Unit (UWAFU), has issued a call to action for Christians, urging them to prioritize supporting the most vulnerable members of society, particularly children and the underprivileged. He emphasized the importance of creating a nurturing environment that fosters love and support, enabling these individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
According to Ghana News Agency, Pastor Amedekah shared this message following a Sabbath School Worship service held at the children's ward of the Tumu Municipal Hospital. During the event, the church donated essential items such as water, toilet rolls, soap, and biscuits to aid the well-being of the children at the hospital. Pastor Amedekah underscored the significance of prayers and support from Christians, which can provide hope and opportunities to disadvantaged children seeking divine intervention in their challenging circumstances.
Explaining the motivation behind the donation, Pastor Amedekah highlighted the church's commitment to embodying the love of God and adhering to the teachings of Jesus, which advocate for caring for the needy and the sick. He referenced Matthew 25:35-46 to stress the importance of compassion and kindness towards those in need. The church aims to bring smiles to the faces of these children through their efforts.
Pastor Amedekah expressed gratitude to the church leaders and members for their contributions to the success of the program, believing that their support and prayers would serve as a blessing of healing to the children while awaiting the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Mr. Elvis Zakpalah Dery, who oversees the children's ward and received the donated items, extended his gratitude to the church for their generosity. He noted that the donation would bring joy and hope to the patients, highlighting the essential nature of food, water, and soap for these individuals. Mr. Dery also called on organizations, individuals, NGOs, and other churches to follow the example set by the Seventh Day Adventist Church in supporting the hospital.
