Enchi: Nana Tano Kabbah II, Chief of Enchi Kwahu and Akwamuhene of the Aowin Traditional Council, has launched a 1,000-seat capacity auditorium for Enchi College of Education in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, the auditorium, when completed, will include 10 offices, 20 washrooms, and four storage facilities. The project is estimated to cost GHS 10,000,000.00 and is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Nana Kabbah II, who chaired the launch, emphasized that promoting quality education in his traditional area remains his top priority. "I will continue to channel most of my resources into educational infrastructure development," Nana Kabbah stressed.
Dr. Emmanuel Adom Ashun, Acting Principal for Enchi College of Education, highlighted the infrastructure deficit the college has faced since its establishment. "Currently, we use the dining hall as a multipurpose facility, as a dining hall and our auditorium, hence the urgent need for the project," Dr. Ashun stated.
Dr. Ashun also appealed to old student year groups, students, philanthropists, Non-Governmental Organizations, stakeholders, and the government for support in the form of building materials to help realize the vision. Additionally, he mentioned some achievements since January, such as procuring a 65 KVA power plant and pavement moulding machines to improve campus infrastructure.
The event was attended by personnel from the Municipal Education Directorate, faculty members, students, alumni, and the clergy.
