MTN Ghana Calls for Blood Donors for Annual ‘Save a Life Initiative’

Accra: The MTN Ghana Foundation is set to organize its annual 'Save a Life' Blood Donation exercise on Friday, February 14, 2025. This initiative aims to collect 6,110 units of blood to replenish the National Blood Service and the blood banks of major regional hospitals across the country. The event will take place on Valentine's Day in all 16 regions of Ghana.

According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Kofi Asare, the Acting Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer of MTN Ghana, stated that the Foundation initiated the blood donation exercise as part of its commitment to supporting the healthcare delivery system in Ghana. He expressed satisfaction in continuing this initiative to help save lives and encouraged everyone who shares this vision to use Valentine's Day as an opportunity to demonstrate their love by donating a unit of blood.

He further advised donors to visit MTN Ghana's website and social media channels for details on the exercise's locations throughout Ghana. The MTN Save a Life Campaign, held annually on Valentine's Day by the MTN Ghana Foundation, offers MTN staff and the public an opportunity to donate blood to support the National Blood Bank and regional hospitals.

The initiative, which began in 2011 in response to appeals from the National Blood Service for voluntary contributions, has successfully raised over 29,000 units of blood over the years.
