Man Arrested in Paris with pound 10 Million in Jewellery Hidden in Underwear

Paris: French police have detained a man at a Paris train station after discovering luxury jewellery worth pound 10 million hidden in his underwear. The arrest took place at the Gare de Lyon, where authorities conducted a routine check on the traveller following the arrival of a long-distance train.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Paris prosecutor’s office stated that investigations into gang-related handling of stolen goods have been launched against the man and an accomplice, who was also apprehended. The duo was found carrying an angle grinder in a suitcase, raising further suspicions.

The newspaper Le Parisien, citing investigators, reported that the men were already known to authorities. During the inspection, officers discovered that the suspect had concealed a sock in his underwear, which contained a luxury watch and numerous pieces of jewellery. The collection included a necklace valued at approximately pound 5 million, earrings worth over pound 2 million, and a ring valued at pound 1 million.
