Ghana Int. Expo and Investment Forum to Boost Cross-Border Trade and Tourism in Lagos

Lagos: The Ghana Tourism Authority, in collaboration with key trade and industry stakeholders, is set to organise the Ghana International Expo and Investment Forum (GIEIF) in Lagos, Nigeria, with the aim of promoting Ghanaian businesses and tourism. The Expo, scheduled to take place from September 24 to 27, 2025, will bring together Ghanaian entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and international business leaders.

According to Ghana News Agency, the forum will serve as a robust platform for Ghanaian businesses across various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, technology, creative arts, fashion, finance, and services, to engage directly with Nigerian and international counterparts. The event aims to highlight Ghana’s comparative advantages, promote investment opportunities, and foster bilateral and multilateral trade partnerships.

Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, emphasized that the Expo is more than just a marketplace. It is envisioned as a gateway for Ghanaian businesses to position themselves as global players, strengthen economic ties with Nigeria, and open doors to new markets across Africa and beyond. She noted the relevance of the platform in deepening regional integration and enhancing intra-African partnerships, aligning with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The Expo and Forum will feature business exhibitions, investment forums, and panel discussions addressing trade policies, financing, and opportunities for cross-border partnerships. It will also include networking sessions to connect Ghanaian and Nigerian businesses, investors, and policymakers, as well as a tourism and cultural showcase celebrating Ghanaian creativity through fashion, music, and arts.

Mrs. Houadjeto stated that the exhibition is expected to attract participants including government officials, private sector leaders, investors, trade associations, and the diaspora community. The aim is to advance Ghana’s broader economic agenda of promoting exports, diversifying the economy, and leveraging the AfCFTA to position Ghana as a competitive hub for investment, innovation, trade, and tourism.
