Accra: President Petr Pavel of the Czech Republic arrived at the Kotoka International Airport for a three-day State visit to Ghana. He was greeted by Mr. Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, representing President John Dramani Mahama.
According to Ghana News Agency, other senior government figures welcoming President Pavel included Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Foreign Minister; Mr. Prosper D. K. Bani, the National Security Advisor; Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, the Senior Legal Advisor to the President; and Mr. Alex Segbefia, the Chief of Staff at the Office of the Vice President. This visit marks the first State visit hosted by President Mahama since resuming office on January 7, 2025.
During his stay in Ghana, President Pavel is scheduled to engage in bilateral talks with President Mahama. Additionally, he will address a business forum, inaugurate a Czech-funded health facility, and tour significant sites such as the Osu Castle and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. To honor the visiting head of state, President Mahama will also host a State Dinner.
