Four Soldiers Killed in Al-Qaeda Attack in Southern Yemen

Aden: Four soldiers were killed in an attack by al-Qaeda elements targeting government-affiliated forces in southern Yemen, a government source told dpa. The attack occurred in the al-Mahfad district of the southern Abyan province, an area largely controlled by the Southern Transitional Council (STC). According to Ghana News Agency, the STC forces managed to detonate two car bombs before the al-Qaeda members reached their brigade site. Six al-Qaeda suicide bombers were also killed in the ensuing clashes, the source reported. Hamas Hands Over Another Body Under Gaza Ceasefire Deal

Gaza: The Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas has handed over the body of another person, presumed to be one of the hostages taken in the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks on Israeli communities near Gaza. Lightning Victim Buried After Spiritual Rituals Performed

Dodi-papase: Justice Berina Komla, a 19-year-old resident of Dodi-Kpomkpa in the Kadjebi District, has been laid to rest after spiritual rituals were performed by a fetish priest from Dayi Kwanta in Togo. The young man was struck dead by lightning while working on farmland near Dodi-Papase. According to Ghana News Agency, the Environmental Health Officer of the Dodi-Papase community was contacted to facilitate a suitable burial site in line with public health and sanitation protocols after the spiritual rites were completed. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 1345 hours on Friday, October 17, while Komla was uprooting a palm tree.
