The ceremony was part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish in Bolgatanga. Accra: To ensure the successful introduction of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines in basic schools, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has held a stakeholder engagement with key partners in the education sector. The meeting forms part of the campaign launch towards the nationwide rollout in September 2025, to help prevent cervical cancer among girls aged nine to 14. Accra: Yaw Asare, a head porter, has appeared before the Dansoman Circuit Court for destroying and stealing six metal guardrails at the Obetsebi Lamptey Overpass at Kaneshie in Accra. Asare, 48, was charged with causing unlawful damage and stealing metal guardrails belonging to the Ghana Highways Authority. He pleaded guilty with an explanation. According to Ghana News Agency, the court, presided over by Mrs. El-Alawa Abdul-Bassiit, found Asare’s explanation inconsistent with his guilty plea. Accra: The Ghana Police Service’s Special Anti-Galamsey Task Force has arrested three individuals and seized mining equipment in a crackdown on illegal mining activities in the Central Region. The coordinated operations took place last Friday at Nikanika and Adeade. According to Ghana News Agency, at the Nikanika site, no operators were found; however, the task force retrieved a single-barrel shotgun loaded with a cartridge and three water pumping machines. In a related development, the task force extended its operation to Adeade, where three suspects, Prosper Quansah, Chrispin Nartey, and Owusu Gambra, were arrested with an excavator on a lowbed trailer.
