Accra: The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has handed over 17 gold bars, valued at $1.7 million, to the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) in Accra. The gold bars were seized by the Upper East Command of the Narcotics Control Commission at the Paga Border Post from two Burkinabe nationals, who were attempting to smuggle them out of the country. Ashaiman: Two Nigerian nationals have each been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment in hard labour by the Ashaiman District Court for cyber fraud and illegal entry. John Moore and Charles Bruce pleaded guilty to engaging in prohibited cybercrime activities, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’, and entering Ghana unlawfully through an unauthorised border crossing at Aflao. Accra: The State will on October 13, 2025, present its first prosecution witnesses in the SkyTrain trial. Accra: The Court of Appeal has granted GHC10 million bail to William Ato Essien, CEO of the defunct Capital Bank, pending the determination of his appeal. The three-member panel ordered Essien to provide two sureties with justification, deposit his passport at the Court’s registry, and report monthly to the Registrar.
