Cabinet Approves Funds for Ghana Buffer Stock Amid Food Glut Concerns
Accra: Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga announced that the Cabinet has approved substantial funding for the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) to purchase surplus farm produce from Ghanaian farmers. This intervention comes in response to mounting pressure from lawmakers and agricultural stakeholders in a decisive move to address growing concerns over potential food glut in the country. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ayariga made the announcement in response to a call by Nureedin Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Nalerigu Gambaga, on the floor of Parliament.
