Estonia Commends Morocco’s Role in Regional Peace and Development

Estonia: Estonia has hailed the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Morocco's active role as a hub of peace, stability, and development in the region. Speaking at a press conference following his meeting in Tallinn with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, Estonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Margus Tsahkna, stressed that his country was particularly interested in bolstering ties with Morocco.

According to Ghana News Agency, the head of Estonian diplomacy reaffirmed the shared desire to further strengthen the partnership between his country and Morocco in all areas of common interest. On this occasion, Tsahkna recalled the importance of the Joint Declaration, signed in Rabat on October 21, 2024, stating that this Declaration represents an important roadmap for strengthening and diversifying the partnership between the two countries.

In the Declaration, Estonia praised Morocco's stability and the ambitious reforms carried out under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which have positioned Morocco as a vital and credible partner for the European Union and the region. Estonia also praised the efforts made under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to promote peace, stability, and economic development in Africa.

Estonia welcomed the importance of the initiatives launched under the Sovereign's impetus for Africa, particularly the 'Royal Initiative to facilitate Sahel countries' access to the Atlantic Ocean,' the 'Atlantic African States Process,' and the 'Morocco-Nigeria Gas Pipeline' project. The meeting in Tallinn between Bourita and Tsahkna showcases the mutual will of Morocco and Estonia to bolster the ties between the two countries.

It also testifies to both countries' determination to advance political dialogue and economic partnership, as well as to coordinate on topics of mutual interest at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.
