Members of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) passed at a plenary session Tuesday a bill approving the guarantee agreement signed on June 2, 2023 between the Republic of Tunisia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
84 MPs voted in favour, 29 voted against and 15 abstained.
The agreement concerns a loan of pound 113.6 million to the National Sanitation Office (ONAS). The total cost of the project that will be implemented in the period between 2023 and 2034 is TND 1,746 million. It will be financed by the State, the IBRD and ONAS and will lead to the creation of 150 jobs in the first phase and 233 jobs in the second phase.
The loan will be repaid over 25 years, including a 10-year grace period.
