Abuse of Drugs Threatens Youth Development in North East Region, Says NYA Director

Nalerigu: Mr Kampi Laari Robert, North East Regional Director of the National Youth Authority (NYA), has described the abuse and misuse of drugs as an ‘enemy’ to national development, particularly in the North East Region. He has therefore urged young people to shun the practice. Bolgatanga: The Northern Sector Action on Awareness Centre (Norsaac) has initiated the formation of a Youth and Media Coalition in the Upper East Region as part of efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism. The formation of the coalition under the Strengthening Resilience to Violent Extremism (STRIVE) project aims to raise awareness on counter-terrorism, strengthen traditional conflict resolution and peacebuilding mechanisms, and ultimately contribute to resilient populations and communities against violent extremism.
