Prosecution of Journalist, Police Given Seven Days to File Disclosures

Accra: An Accra Circuit Court has ordered the police to file its disclosures in the case involving Emmanuel Kwakye Asare, a broadcast journalist, who is facing charges over the publication of false news. Circuit Court 8 mandated that the filing be completed within seven days to facilitate the court’s Case Management Conference and set a date for the trial to commence. The case has been adjourned to September 29, 2025. According to Ghana News Agency, Asare was granted bail of GHC100,000 on August 27 after being held on remand for more than two weeks.
