2025 WASSCE Commences with Oral English; 1,679 Candidates Participate in Ketu North

Ketu north: The 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has commenced nationwide with the Oral English paper, involving 1,679 candidates in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region. The candidates are from four schools: Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School (DZOSEC), Weta Senior High Technical School (WESTEC), Wovenu Senior High Technical School (WOSET), and Afife Senior High Technical School (ASSETS). According to Ghana News Agency, the candidate pool consists of 874 boys and 805 girls. DZOSEC has presented the highest number of candidates, totaling 1,067, while ASSETS has the least with 55 candidates, including 36 boys and 19 girls.

Herdsman Remanded into Custody over Alleged Robbery in Ashanti Region

Nkawie: A 42-year-old Fulani herdsman has been remanded into police custody by the Nkawie Circuit Court in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region for allegedly robbing six persons at Nweneso, near Nkawie. According to Ghana News Agency, the plea of Haruna Issah was not taken, and he is expected to reappear before the court, presided over by Mr Robert Addo, on September 3, this year. Police Chief Inspector Ruth Gborson, prosecuting, informed the court that the complainants, who were employees of Nananom Ventures at Toase, were attacked by the suspect on August 5 at about 9:30 p.m.
