Seven SHSs, 3,205 Candidates Begin WASSCE in Keta Municipality

Keta: A total of 3,205 candidates from seven Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region have begun writing the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Court Sentences Miner to 15 Years for Assaulting Friend’s Sister

Tarkwa: The Circuit Court in Tarkwa, presided over by Mrs. Hathia Ama Manu, has sentenced 20-year-old miner Augustine Alavi to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour for defiling his friend’s eight-year-old sister. According to Ghana News Agency, Alavi pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement, admitting to sexually assaulting the young girl in an uncompleted classroom. Keta Residents React to Recent Report About Surge in HIV/AIDS Cases

Keta: Residents in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region have expressed worry about the recent report by the Ghana Health Service about the surge in HIV/AIDS cases recorded in the Municipality, with 27 new infections reported in 2024.
