Man arrested for causing harm breaks down in court

A 32-year-old unemployed man, Derick Squire, wept uncontrollably when an Accra Circuit Court remanded him for a week on a charge of causing harm. Farmers at Ohiamaadwen appeal to government for mechanization centre

Rice and vegetable farmers at Ohiamaadwen in the Shama District, have appealed to the government to establish a Mechanization Centre to boost agricultural activities in the area. The farmers, who farm on a large scale, say they are in dire need of farm implements such as combined harvesters, tractors and power tillers for commercial farming to boost their livelihoods. Bia East District supports 200 apprentice trainees with startup kits.

Mr Nicholas Yayin Niper, the District Chief Executive for the Bia East District in the Western North Region, has presented more than 200 start-up kits to apprentice trainees after a skills training exercise.
