Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui Urges Officials to Follow President Mahama’s Example

Anyako: Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui VII, the Dufia of Anyako-Konu and the Paramount Chief of Amugo-Vego Traditional Area, has called on government appointees to model their conduct after President John Dramani Mahama for the nation’s progress and development.

According to Ghana News Agency, Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui emphasized that President Mahama’s approach to governance represents a significant shift towards improvement and could serve as a guide for government officials to make sound decisions. During a community engagement tour in Anyako with Mr. Wisdom Seade, the Municipal Chief Executive of Keta, Togbi Tenge urged officials to critically observe and emulate the commendable demeanor of President Mahama to better manage various institutions.

He further highlighted Anyako’s challenges as a fishing community, particularly the silted lagoon that needs dredging to enhance fishing activities and boost the local economy. Togbi Tenge appealed to the government to prioritize the dredging of the Anyako lagoon, which would create jobs and alleviate flooding issues in the area.

In addition, he advocated for the erection of a monument in honor of Mr. John Willie Kofi Harley, a native of Anyako and the first Inspector General of Police from 1966 to 1969. Togbi Tenge also suggested that Mr. Komla Agbeli Gbedemah, a prominent politician and Finance Minister during Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s administration, be similarly honored for his contributions to good governance.

Togbi Tenge also called for a special monument for Corporal Patrick Attipoe, a World War II veteran from Anyako, who was killed during a peaceful protest in 1948. He highlighted the national commemoration of the event and requested similar recognition in Anyako to celebrate Corporal Attipoe’s bravery.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wisdom Seade, the Keta MCE, assured that the government would take necessary actions to address the issues facing the area.
