PALI Ghana Alumni Makes Significant Contribution to Cerebral Palsy Ghana

Accra: The Pan-African Leadership Institute (PALI) Ghana Alumni, with generous contributions from members, has made a cash donation to support members of the Cerebral Palsy Ghana in Accra. The group also donated a range of essential items, including detergents, toiletries, adult diapers, and bedsheets, to aid in the care and well-being of the patients.

According to Ghana News Agency, the donation was announced by Madam Theodora Senaya, Ghana Ambassador of PALI, during a courtesy visit by the executives of PALI Ghana Alumni to the Pediatric Cerebral Palsy Unit at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Initially, the group intended to support an orphanage, but an executive member suggested focusing on mothers with children living with cerebral palsy, a group often overlooked.

During the visit, PALI executives met with the Cerebral Palsy Ghana executive team, where they heard stories of mothers who faced challenging circumstances, including premature births due to preeclampsia and complications such as lack of oxygen to the baby’s brain, which are known causes of cerebral palsy. These mothers face daily challenges without reliable support, witnessing their children struggle with immobility and pain, yet their resilience remains evident.

Madam Senaya emphasized that this project was more than just a donation; it represented a journey from personal loss to public service. She highlighted that PALI Ghana is committed to Pan-African servant leadership and remains dedicated to supporting communities, amplifying unheard voices, and fostering real, lasting change. She also expressed gratitude to the management of PALI for providing a platform to lead with purpose and commended Dr. Kofi Osei-Kusi, the President and Co-founder of PALI, for his inspiring leadership.
