NCCE Encourages School Children to Learn the 1992 Constitution

Wamanafo: Mr. Peter Kwabena Gyesi, the Bono Regional Director of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), has urged school children to learn and become well informed about the provisions of the 1992 Constitution. As future leaders of the nation, he emphasized the importance of understanding the constitution.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gyesi delivered this message while speaking at an inter-basic school quiz competition organized by the NCCE at Wamanafo in the Dormaa East District. The event was part of the activities to commemorate the 68th Independence Anniversary celebration. Mr. Gyesi encouraged students to join civic education clubs established in their respective schools.

Mr. Emmanuel Hinneh, the Dormaa East District Director of NCCE, also highlighted the necessity of instilling the ideals and principles of democratic governance in school children. He explained that the competition aimed to inspire schools to learn about the 1992 Constitution.

In the competition, Sabwill Junior High School (JHS) emerged as the winners and were awarded a trophy. The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) JHS and Saint James JHS followed in second and third place, respectively. Each participating school received a wall clock, and the competing students were given exercise books.
