The Italian authorities have mobilised pound 18 million (nearly 60 million dinars) to carry out cooperation projects with Tunisia in the vocational training sector, to meet the needs of Italian companies based in Tunisia and abroad in 2023-2025, Italy's Ambassador in Tunis Fabrizio Saggio said on Friday .
The ambassador was speaking at an information day held by the embassy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, and the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, as well as the Tunisian-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He commended the Tunisian skills and their contribution to boosting the competitiveness of Italian companies in Tunisia.
Indeed, Adviser to the Minister of Employment Abdelkader Jammali said the imminent need of Italian companies for labour is estimated at 300 jobs, out of 6,000 jobs that will be filled during the year.
This can contribute to bolstering the competitiveness of companies and promoting Tunisia as an investment destination based on the wealth of its human capital, in addition to creating decent jobs for young Tunisians.
The Ministry of Employment announced, on Friday, a pilot project aiming to meet the needs of employers in the textile sector, involving the training of 1,500 young people.
It was agreed to create a working team bringing together the various stakeholders to identify the need for skilled labour and manage to meet the needs with the necessary efficiency, according to the same source.
