Temperatures will continue to rise in most regions, particularly on Sunday and Monday, with temperatures 6°C to 10°C above the normal average, warns the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) in a bulletin.
Temperatures will reach 41°C locally, particularly in the north and centre-east. Maximum temperatures will vary between 42°C and 49°C.
According to the INM, temperatures are set to fall from Tuesday afternoon in the north, then in the centre and south. They will be close to seasonal averages on Wednesday and Thursday.
However, the mercury is expected to rise again on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures 4°C to 8°C above the normal average.
