Accra: The Management and Workers Union of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have announced a nationwide revenue mobilisation campaign titled ‘Operation All Must Pay’, with the aim of clearing outstanding customer arrears.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued by the ECG revealed that the campaign will run from Monday, July 14, to Friday, July. Dr. Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, ECG’s General Manager of External Communication, provided details of the campaign, stating that it targets all customer categories, including residential, commercial, industrial, and government sectors.
Dr. Ayiku explained that special teams will be deployed to ensure compliance, with a focus on detecting any illegal connections or attempts to reconnect power without settling arrears. He emphasized the importance of timely payments to avoid disconnections and additional reconnection fees, urging customers to use the official ECG Mobile App for secure transactions and warning against scammers promoting fake payment methods.
He further highlighted that the ‘All Must Pay’ campaign is essential for enhancing the financial health of ECG and improving service delivery, ensuring a stable and reliable power supply nationwide. The statement advised customers to make payments through approved methods, such as the ECG Mobile App, available on the Google Play Store, or by contacting the company’s call centre for assistance.
During this period, ECG will also inspect meter integrity and engage with customers to resolve any operational issues. The company urges all customers with outstanding balances to act promptly to avoid service disruptions.
