Young Revolutionary Cadres Mark 46th Anniversary of June 4 Uprising with Wreath-Laying Ceremony

Takoradi: The Takoradi branch of the Young Revolutionary Cadres of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held a wreath-laying ceremony and a durbar on Wednesday to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the June 4 uprising. The event, themed 'Resetting Ghana for Accountable Governance,' aimed to reflect on the historical significance of the uprising in the nation's democratic journey.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister, in a speech read on his behalf, praised the Young Revolutionary Cadres for organizing the 2025 celebration. He emphasized that the anniversary serves as a reminder of the June 4, 1979, uprising's role in restoring dignity and promoting good governance, democracy, probity, accountability, and the rule of law in Ghana.

Mr. Nelson highlighted that resetting Ghana requires discipline, hard work, honesty, commitment, and patriotism. He encouraged the Young Cadres to remain steadfast in their core principles and strive to instill the values of the June 4 revolution in their lives to contribute to societal betterment.

Mr. Fredrick Faidoo, the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), remarked on the enduring significance of the revolution in Ghana's political history. He assured that the NDC government remains committed to its resetting agenda to meet the needs of Ghanaians, in line with the values the June 4 uprising championed. Mr. Samuel Donkor, a National Executive Member of the United Front Cadres, called on members to uphold the revolution's ideals and work diligently towards a prosperous future for all Ghanaians.
