Ahafo Regional Minister Encourages Female Traders to Leverage Economic Interventions

Ahafo: Miss Charity Gardiner, the Ahafo Regional Minister, has urged female traders in the area to position their businesses to benefit from the government's economic intervention programmes. She emphasized the impending establishment of the Women's Development Bank and encouraged traders to effectively plan their businesses to take advantage of the bank's interventions and other opportunities.

According to Ghana News Agency, during her interaction with market women and traders at the Kenyasi market in the Asutifi North District, Ms. Gardiner encouraged them to leverage the Micro Finance and Small Loans Center (MASLOC) facility to expand their economic activities. She also advised them to repay their loans promptly to enable more women to benefit. Her visit aimed to familiarize herself with the district, identify socio-economic challenges, and address them.

Ms. Gardiner assured that women would be included in the government's 'Adwummura' and 'Akoko Nketinketi' programmes, which aim to create more job opportunities and enhance the socio-economic livelihood of the people.

Mr. Hafiz Dauda Debeil, the Asutifi North District Chief Executive, announced advanced plans for constructing a 24-hour market. This development is expected to open the area and spur rapid socio-economic growth. He urged residents to cooperate with the assembly to facilitate the district's development.

Dr. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, the Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, committed to addressing the development needs of local communities within his capacity.
