Western Central Regional Police Arrest Suspect in Simpa Clash Case

Simpa: The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested one person in connection with a violent clash that resulted in the death of Emmanuel Cudjoe, 23, at Simpa, near Simpa Sawmill, in the Nsuaem District.

According to Ghana News Agency, the suspect, Daniel Cudjoe alias Kwame Ato Asare, 25, is the brother of the deceased. The Regional Police Command disclosed this information in a press statement, signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Beatrice Turkson, Head of the Public Affairs Unit.

The statement detailed that on Sunday, September 28, 2025, the police responded to a distress call reporting an armed clash between two opposing groups. One group was led by the suspect, while the opposing group from Dadwen was led by Alhassan and Abolo, who are both suspects currently at large.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the suspect, along with the deceased and ten others who are also on the run, confronted the group from Dadwen. This confrontation was in response to information that the Dadwen group had allegedly destroyed equipment at a mining site belonging to the suspect’s group.

The statement further noted that the confrontation escalated into violence, resulting in an exchange of gunfire that led to the death of Emmanuel Cudjoe. Exhibits retrieved from the scene included two pump action guns, three machetes, four motorbikes, one tricycle, and regalia.

The Regional Police Command has assured the public that investigations are ongoing to apprehend all individuals involved so they can face justice.
