Kadjebi: The body of Alhassan Alasa Inusah, a 27-year-old Senior High School graduate, has been found and laid to rest after he drowned in River Menu. The incident took place on Sunday, September 28, and his body was discovered on Tuesday, September 30. He was buried the same day in Okanta, near Kadjebi, following Islamic customs.
According to Ghana News Agency, the tragic incident occurred when Alhassan and his twin brother, Inusah Fuseini, attempted to cross River Menu on a motorbike via a bamboo footbridge. While Fuseini managed to swim to safety, Alhassan was swept away by the river’s current.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the funeral prayer grounds, Mr. Inusah Adam, the father of the deceased and a former Assemblyman for the Kosamba Electoral Area, expressed the profound impact of the loss on both the family and the community. He described his son as a hardworking and respected young man.
The funeral saw the attendance of hundreds of mourners from Kadjebi, Okanta, Menuso, and Awudome Kofe, who gathered to pay their final respects.
