Accra: The National Media Commission (NMC) has conducted a working visit to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) to gain firsthand insight into its operations and identify challenges affecting its mandate. The visit aimed to bolster the commission’s understanding of the agency’s functions and explore solutions to enhance its effectiveness.
According to Ghana News Agency, Professor Akua Biritwum, Chairperson of the NMC, led the delegation, assuring the agency of the commission’s support in achieving its objectives. She encouraged the GNA’s management to embrace digitization and digitalization to improve its outcomes.
The delegation accompanying Professor Biritwum included Mr. Kobby Asmah, Mr. Kofi Yeboah, Mr. Mahama Shaibu, Abena Annobea-Asare, Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, Lawyer Eva Okyere, Ernest Owusu Addo, Anthony Obeng Afrane, and Hajj Muhammad Amir Kpakpo Addo. Mr. Albert Kofi Owusu, the General Manager of the GNA, welcomed the team and provided a briefing on the agency’s operations and challenges. He also guided the commission through an assessment of ongoing renovation work at the agency’s head office in Accra.
