Nigel Baptiste Steps Down from Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC Board

Accra: Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC has announced the retirement of Mr. Nigel M. Baptiste from its Board of Directors, effective September 1, 2025. Mr. Baptiste retires after completing a full tenure of nine years, in compliance with the Bank of Ghana Corporate Governance Directive, 2018.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from the Communications Department of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC detailed Mr. Baptiste’s extensive contributions to the bank. Serving as a Non-Executive Director, he also holds prominent positions as the Group President and Chief Executive Officer of Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) and as President and Managing Director of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) in Trinidad and Tobago. His career with RFHL spans over four decades, providing significant banking expertise and strategic insight.

Mr. Baptiste’s role in enhancing the governance and oversight of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC has been pivotal in reinforcing the bank’s strategic direction, corporate governance, and stakeholder engagement.
