Education Must Empower Mind and Heart, Urges Togbe Afede at Mawuli School Anniversary

Accra: Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, has called on students to regard education as a journey towards liberation, creativity, and service to humanity. Speaking at the grand Durbar celebrating Mawuli School's 75th Anniversary, he emphasized that true learning should empower the head, heart, and hand, moving beyond mere academic achievements.

According to Ghana News Agency, Togbe Afede stressed that education must equip young individuals with innovative and problem-solving skills to face future challenges. He highlighted that education should extend beyond classroom walls, focusing on liberating young minds and instilling creativity and problem-solving capabilities. He emphasized that true education should shape individuals who think deeply, act purposefully, and serve humanity with compassion.

Togbe Afede encouraged students to adopt hard work, discipline, and dedication, noting that learning is a lifelong journey extending beyond formal schooling. He underscored the importance of self-confidence and independence as essential values for making a meaningful impact in today's world.

Addressing sustainability, the Agbogbomefia highlighted the need for an endowment fund to secure the financial future of Mawuli School. He recalled his previous contributions to the initiative and urged members of the Old Mawuli Students Union (OMSU) and stakeholders to bolster the fund for the school's ongoing growth and development. Demonstrating his commitment, Togbe Afede XIV personally donated GHS20,000 to the fund, reinforcing collective responsibility for the school's progress.

He commended Mawuli School for its 75-year legacy of excellence and praised its alumni for upholding the school's name with distinction. Togbe Afede remarked that the achievements of past students are a testament to the school's enduring legacy and the transformative power of education. As the school celebrates this milestone, he expressed hope for the continued nurturing of leaders who think critically, act responsibly, and serve humanity with integrity and excellence.
