Accra: Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli II remains the gazetted paramount chief of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area. He has been urged to return to the area to continue overseeing development projects crucial for the community.

According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Etwe Kpanyinli VI, Chief of Anyinase and a member of the King Makers of the Paramountcy, made this call during a press conference. Approximately six months ago, Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli II had to flee due to chieftaincy clashes involving his direct nephew, Awulae Blay.

The Chief of Anyinase, along with other prominent figures from the Eastern Nzema area, emphasized that the Traditional Council had not convened any case of destoolment to declare Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli II as no longer the paramount chief. They urged the police to urgently investigate and hold accountable those responsible for creating unrest and disturbing the peace in the area.

Nana Kwabena Bentum II, the Salima Chief, described the unrest in Atuabo as unnecessary and called for immediate government intervention to alleviate the tension. He stressed that the country’s laws should be enforced against violators within the paramountcy.

Nana Simali Kpanyinli V, Chief of Anwia, also highlighted the importance of police involvement to restore peace and order, which are essential for the area’s development.
